Awareness Training Conducted in Cooperation with AFAD at Bartın University

Bartın University Faculty of Sports Sciences hosted a meaningful event to increase disaster awareness and provide students 
with basic disaster awareness. The awareness training organized by Bartın AFAD Provincial Directorate on May 7, 2025 was carried 
out under the coordination of Dr. Lecturer Çiğdem Gökduman.In the training, which was held with the participation of Bartın AFAD 
Provincial Director Mr. Alparslan YENİTÜRK and expert staff within the directorate, topics such as pre-disaster preparation, correct 
behavior during a disaster and what to do after a disaster were discussed in detail. Within the scope of the training, students were
presented with content supported by practical examples and interactive activities.The event, which attracted great interest from the 
students of the Faculty of Sports Sciences, also attracted attention with the active participation of the academic staff. 
The program aimed to increase the awareness of students against disasters and to raise individuals who are prepared for possible risks.
Speaking at the end of the event, Dr. Lecturer Çiğdem Gökduman touched upon the importance of creating awareness in all segments 
of society against disasters and expressed her hope that such collaborations will continue to increase. She thanked 
Bartın AFAD Provincial Director Mr. Alparslan YENITURK and all AFAD personnel for their contributions. As Bartın University, 
similar awareness activities will continue so that our students can grow up as conscious, knowledgeable and prepared individuals 
in the face of disasters.
